Rue Douce sizing runs true to the label shown on each product page — most pieces use a size-plus-number format like S(2), M(4), L(6) and XL(8), which pairs the common letter size with its equivalent U.S. numeric size.
How the labels line up
- S(2) — Small, U.S. size 2
- M(4) — Medium, U.S. size 4
- L(6) — Large, U.S. size 6
- XL(8) — Extra Large, U.S. size 8
A handful of styles are offered in one size only, or in extended sizing (2XL–4XL) — the available options are always listed on the product itself, so what you see there is what you can order.
Getting the fit right
Because our pieces come from a range of makers, fit can vary a little from style to style — a wrap dress and a tailored blazer won't sit the same way in the same size. Where a style runs noticeably fitted, oversized, or true-to-size, we call it out in the product description. If you're between two sizes, we generally suggest sizing up for a more relaxed fit, or down for something more fitted.
